Ruolin is interested in examining the wellbeing of the vulnerable population. Previous research has focused on the policies related to children in out-of-home care and women in developing countries. In the future, Ruolin aspires to incorporate both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the heterogeneous causal effects of policies on the long-term wellbeing of individuals.
